Childhood obesity is a disease at the forefront of all pediatric practices. I have become very interested over the years of my own childhood and throughout my training how important a pediatrician is to combating childhood obesity. I am the vice chairperson of the American Academy of Pediatrics Arizona Chapter’s Obesity committee. Obesity is usually a family issue and I am here to help kids and their families find the motivation, strength and resources to find healthy lifestyles in their home. As pediatricians in Arizona, our main campaign to fight obesity in Arizona is our 5-2-1-0 rule.
Starting with these rules really helps kick-start a healthy routine. As a doctor I am here to help children come up with a good plan to start on a path to a healthy life long lifestyle. If you are concerned about your child’s weight or health habits please comes in and talk with me.
